Job Summary
   The General Foreman will be responsible for a large, vertical concrete structure with office towers and parking.   Works directly with management team to create the best overall customer service possible.  The General Foreman is a leader of their trade and must be able to both perform construction work and lead other employees and subcontractors in doing quality field work. They need to ensure the project site and crews are performing their jobs according to their scopes of work and schedules assisting the Superintendent in guiding subcontractors when needed.
 
Summary of Essential Responsibilities
  • Ensures subcontractors are within scope, budget, and on schedule. Be able to lead the subcontractors towards task completion.
  • Coordinates subcontractor work with Superintendent's oversite.
  • Ensures quality work from other crew members, foreman, and subcontractors.
  • Trains carpenters and foreman on job duties, quality expectations, and safety procedures.
  • Manages delivery logistics including delivery areas and schedules making sure subcontractors stick to their date and time slots in order to keep the job flowing.
  • Knowledgeable about project schedule at all times. Creates daily reports on project progress and coordinates with subcontractor field foreman.
  • Keeps all team members informed about task progress and where subcontractors are in their work.Ensures crews have proper equipment.
  • Maintains jobsite safety following compliance with company policy, legal requirements, and any other regulation standards. Complies with safety policies and regulations and able to train others if necessary on company safety policy. Ensures proper investigations of any accidents or safety hazards.
  • Attends site training sessions and becomes certified in necessary fields.
  • Communicates regularly with Superintendent to ensure subcontractors are on schedule and performing quality work.
  • Understands project specs, scope of work, and project plans.
 
Job Requirements
  • 5 years of experience in the construction field specifically as a carpenter or related General Foreman position with 3 years in concrete construction.
  • Ability to understand plans specifications, scopes of work, and other necessary construction documents to ensure job is completed as expected.
  • Carpentry apprenticeship and use of Bluebeam are pluses.
